Recording and Transcription

• About this service
  Our digital recording technology can simultaneously record and securely transmit audio for either concurrent or delayed transcription by our in-house transcriptionists.

  On the day of your event, an experienced monitor will arrive on location to operate the recording equipment to ensure a professional recording. Our monitors are court-trained, with a great deal of discretion and experience recording in formal legal environments.

• Turnaround times
  Our transcription services are available at a range of delivery times and prices to meet your requirements:
  
  

  Transcript Order Type
  Running Transcript	The transcript is delivered progressively, twice daily. The order must be received by 4pm the business day prior.
  Same Day Priority	The transcript is delivered by 6pm. The order must be received by 4pm the business day prior.
  Next Business Day	The transcript is delivered by 6pm, the next business day following the receipt of the order. The order must be received by 10am.
  Standard	The transcript is delivered by 6pm a maximum of 5 business days following the receipt of the order.
  Delayed	The transcript is delivered on a non-urgent basis.

  
  Important:
  
  A Running and Same Day service is available subject to resource availability. We will advise upon receipt of your order.
  
  For recordings of greater than 4 hours duration, please contact your nearest office to confirm that we can deliver within the requested turnaround.
  
  Please be aware that if a matter sits after 4pm then this will impact on our ability to deliver on-time for both Running and Same Day service.

• Pricing
  The pricing for the digital recording service consists of the following:
  
  

  • A set-up and dismantle fee for all equipment; and
  • An hourly recording fee.

  The rates will vary according to the number of speakers present and whether or not the recording service is provided within business hours.

  Our transcription rates vary depending on the delivery turnaround required and are calculated per folio (100 words transcribed). As a guide, on average 1 hour of recorded interview produces approximately 6,400 words which is equivalent to 64 folios.

• How to order
  If you would like to order a recording and transcription service, or obtain an estimate of cost, please follow the steps for ordering for account holders and new customers.

  We will contact you within one business day to confirm receipt of your order.

• Security and confidentiality
  Spark & Cannon values the requirement for all client records and information to be treated with the highest level of security and confidentiality. Our clients trust our service which is fully backed up by the integrity of our management and staff.

  All employees are required to sign and acknowledge our internal confidential information policy which clearly outlines the protocol in respect of all such material and its appropriate treatment. Throughout our proud 47-year history we have never had a breach of this strict policy.

  Under the requirements of many of our government contracts the majority of our employees also have state and federal police clearances as well as vetted clearances to an in-confidence and highly protected level. At Spark & Cannon the security of records is paramount. Each of our offices is located within a secure building with separate tenancy lockable areas. In addition, all data stored on computers is protected via password access.
